"AS SOON AS YOU BEGIN TO PURSUE A DREAM, YOUR LIFE WAKES UP AND EVERYTHING HAS MEANING."
I'm Jasmyn Daley, founder of Naturallyy Jas Coaching!
Being on this earth for a mere 17 years, you wouldn't think I'd have much to share (and you are sort of right, I'm only at the start of my business journey), but that doesn't mean there hasn't been a string of events and life choices that have led me on the amazing journey I am on today!
When people constantly asked me, what do you want to be? What do you want to study after school? Questions that suggested that the corporate world was the only option, I was stuck with a blank in my head, as they expected me to rattle off plans and ideas. I knew what I wanted to study after school, I knew what my interests were... but the idea of working a 9-5 job, doing the same things day in-day out. It scared me!! There were the occasional phases of "I want to be this..." or "I want to be that..." but never a worlds aligned, ground breaking, soul-fulfilling idea that made me think "This is it!", "This is what I want to do with my life". I would imagine myself in these jobs, doing what people did day to day, but I could never fully see how they did it. To me, it all seemed so unfulfilling and sure, doing what you love on the side is a perfectly acceptable option, but for me it just didn't cut it. I wanted to live my life the way I choose and not be constrained by the corporate jobs that I would never fully be happy with. As an adolescent, that was a scary thought, I was constantly worried that "my thing" didn't exist, that I would have to spend the better half of my life doing something I didn't absolutely love!
"I WAS CONSTANTLY WORRIED THAT "MY THING" DIDN'T EXIST."
So in determination to not settle for any less than the best, I searched everywhere (and yes, even those "I hate my job" 2011 forums). I just wanted to know that I wasn't the only one, I wasn't the only person so disheartened by the idea that in a few short months I would be embarking on a journey that wasn't my own. In a desperate plea to find something, I turned to social media. I looked through account after account, searching for those people who loved their lives, those people who were doing their own thing (you know the ones who travel for a living or paint in their garage). At first I was so baffled at how they could do this, didn't they need money. Didn't they need a means of living. I started to notice a common theme throughout, they all had a business or a brand. It was then that my idea of work changed, I found entrepreneurship. This was the life fulfilling thing that I had been trying so hard to find, this was the career that wasn't a "career".
The gears started turning and hyped with excitement and passion, I started to travel down a different path of business and self development. I binge watched you-tube videos all about business and success. I spent weeks ploughing through courses and materials. I read countless books about mindset, self development and things that I had never heard of before. I was ecstatic to have finally found my passion, there was only 1 issue, I was still in High School. I saw all these successful people and they were all so much older than me, they all has "career changes" or at least a university degree to back up their skills. Despite all this, I thought no. Your age will never determine what you can and can't achieve, you don't need to be an " expert" to pursue your dreams. So I decided to give it go.
"THIS WAS THE LIFE FULFILLING THING THAT I HAD BEEN TRYING SO HARD TO FIND, THIS WAS THE CAREER THAT WASN'T A CAREER"
Equipped with my new found passion, I started phase 2 of my "plan to building my dream business" (you could say the self development had really gotten to me by that stage). I searched for a niche! Every step I turned, I kept coming back to "helping people". Something that I have always been passionate about doing, something that I would gladly do for the rest of my life. I love to guide people, show them what to do (yes, I was a slightly bossy child). I wanted to show people that there is more to life than what you learn at school, I wanted to help other people to pursue their dreams. I guess you could say that's how "Naturallyy Jas" came to be.
